Apprenticeship Overview

Management Apprenticeships are on the rise with 2014 seeing a 7% increase on 2013.

A City & Guilds survey of companies from its Top 100 Apprenticeships Employer list, 30% of their senior management positions were filled by previous apprentices.

Also 89% of the top managers reported that if they were beginning their career again they would start as an apprentice.

This is a programme of work delivered through a series of workshops, 1-1 and work based learning with dedicated tutors and assessors.

Team Leading (Level 2)

This Apprenticeship is aimed at people taking on their first management role either in a trainee manager role, team coordinator, section leader or other role requiring some supervisory responsibility

Management (Level 3)

This Apprenticeship is targeted at Experienced Junior Managers who have a broader range of duties who want to develop their knowledge and approach to improve their efficiency and effectiveness in managing people and processes.

Management (Level 5)

For Middle managers wishing to develop their ability to lead, motivate and inspire, support the delivery of organisational strategy through effective operational management practice.

This is a high level programme of study and assessment typically delivered over 18 months

Progression

Entry onto the Level 2, 3 or 5 is through an assessment of the manager’s role, experience and opportunity to meet the qualifications outcomes. qualifications.

BABusiness Administration

Apprenticeship Overview

The purpose of this apprenticeship is to train administrators to work efficiently and effectively within a business.

Business administration apprenticeships have been in the Top 20 apprenticeships for many years.

There are approximately 30,000 learners starting Business Administration Apprenticeships every year. Administrators handle the day-to-day tasks in an office and ensure things run smoothly.

This work requires a strong sense of responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail.

This is a programme of work delivered through a series of workshops, 1 to 1 and work based learning with a dedicated tutors and assessors.

Administration (Level 2)

Usually undertake a range of routine tasks in different work contexts. They have some autonomy but are usually supervised.

Job titles could include: Administration Assistant; Clerical Assistant; Data Entry Clerk; Filing/Records Clerk; Junior Secretary; Office Clerk

Administration (Level 3)

Usually undertake a wide range of complex tasks in a variety of work contexts. They have a high degree of autonomy and responsibility and may provide some supervisory support.

Job titles could include: Administration Officer; Administration Team Leader; Database Administrator; Executive Officer; Office Supervisor; Personal Assistant; Secretary

Progression

Entry onto the Level 2,3 is through an assessment of role, experience and opportunity to meet the qualifications outcomes. Administrators often progress onto Management Qualifications Level 3 or 5.

BIBusiness Improvement

Apprenticeship Overview

This is an interactive and practical series of workshops that could be the beginning of your company’s process improvement journey.

Over 450 companies from across all business sectors have already realised the benefits this programme has to offer through a combination of workshop based interactive learning and development of practical “Lean” projects within their business.

As a result of participating in this pathway, apprentices will:

  • Achieve senior management commitment to Lean Management Thinking
  • Develop and implement a real time LMT project
  • Embed Lean behaviours, giving participants the ability to develop further projects at the end of the programme
  • Learn how other companies apply LMT to their operations and share experiences
  • Achieve process efficiencies and associated financial savings, typically at a level no less than 20:1 return on investment

This pathway is delivered over a 12 month period and includes 5 workshops leading up to a final presentation session at the end of the programme.

Schematic Test

The programme is delivered by “lean management” professionals that have considerable experience in the areas of Lean Management Thinking, Lean Finance and Change Management and a successful track record in helping companies realise significant savings through process efficiency.

Progression

On successful completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship, apprentices can progress on to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Improvement Techniques or other Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships such as Business Admin and Management.

On successful completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship, apprentices can progress on to the Level 5 Higher apprenticeship or degree level qualifications.

Apprenticeship Overview

Quality Customer Service is the key ingredient needed for all successful organisations.

Excellent, high quality customer service can benefit your business in many ways including satisfied customers and shareholders, increased business growth, successful business strategies, reduced risk of business failure, reduced employee attrition, increased efficiency and understanding competition as well as motivated employees.

This is a programme of work delivered through a series of workshops, 1 to 1 and work based learning with dedicated tutors and assessors.

Customer Service (Level 2)

Is suitable for learners who have roles that are customer facing and require people who have an interest in promoting and supporting the products or services offered by their organisation either with direct face to face contact, through telephone, direct mail, email, text and social media.

Administration (Level 3)

Is aimed at learners who are delivering and managing service and are accountable in the area of practice.

They can influence what happens at work, use the organisations rules and systems flexibly to deliver good service, question the way things are done and suggest improvements.

Progression

Entry onto the Level 2,3 is through an assessment of role, experience and opportunity to meet the qualifications outcomes.

Customer Service workers often progress onto Management Qualifications Level 3 or 5.

Intermediate (Level 2) Care Workers

Intermediate care workers are the front line staff in care settings. They work with all types of people who need care and support, who receive direct care in washing, eating, mobility, toileting and other aspects of living that help them to be comfortable lives.

Advanced (Level 3) Senior Care Worker

Advanced senior care workers do the same job as a care worker, but often with the additional duties of supervision and monitoring of care workers and care assistants, or with additional responsibilities for areas of work such as infection control or end of life lead.

Higher (Level 5) Manager

Middle Managers are responsible for overseeing the organisation and managing whole departments or a residential home or domiciliary service.

Progression

Learners completing an Apprenticeship at Level 2 can progress to Level 3 and onto Level 5 should their role enable them to benefit from the qualification.

Learners may also choose to complete Team Leading or Management Qualifications.

There are approximately 2.7 million people working with children and young people in England.

The workforce makes up 10% of the labour market and a large number are public sector employees including Schools, Colleges, local Authorities and the NHS.

There is a growing private sector provision in early years.

The impact of children attending pre-school providing high quality care and development is central to the provision of an excellent apprenticeship programme.

Our apprenticeship is delivered through a series of workshops, 1 to 1 and work based learning with dedicated tutors and assessors.

Child Care (Level 2)

This qualification is for Child Care workers who are working under supervision. At level 2 learners should be able complete tasks and tackle straightforward problems working with children from birth to 5 years

Early Years Educator (Level 3)

Learners completing the early year’s educator (EYE) is the must have qualification for those working in or wanting to work with children from birth to 5 years.

Manager (Level 5)

At this level learners will be able to use understanding, methods and skills to address complex problems, taking responsibility for the management and development of people, resources and designing and implementing processes for supporting children from birth to 5 years.

Progression

Entry onto the Level 2,3 is through an assessment of role, experience and opportunity to meet the qualifications outcomes.

We also include a paediatric first aid qualification as part of this course!

CLCleaning Services

Apprenticeship Overview

Professional cleaning provides an extremely vital support function that underpins every single business in the UK. The UK’s cleaning industry employs people in a wide range of settings like offices, manufacturing facilities, retail outlets, hospitals and civic buildings.

Whether it is office cleaning, carpet cleaning or commercial waste disposal, cleaning is an essential activity that helps maintain order, create and maintain safe, healthy and presentable workplaces and public amenities.

This apprenticeship is modular in nature and has been developed to enable individuals to acquire the essential skills and knowledge necessary for a worthwhile career.

It provides recognition for candidates’ existing cleaning expertise and experience. It also allows them to demonstrate competence against the national occupational standards for cleaning and support services.

The cleaning apprenticeship is designed to equip candidates with essential knowledge and practical cleaning skills and covers:

  • Cleaning processes in different environments
  • Hygiene
  • Reducing health and safety risks in the workplace
  • Personal development in cleaning roles
  • Effective workplace communications
  • Working in teams
  • Following reporting procedures

Candidates undertake study modules which comprise a mixture of core and optional subject specialisations which yield an apprenticeship that is tailored toward a particular facet of the cleaning industry.

Our apprenticeship is delivered through a series of workshops, 1 to 1 and work based learning with a dedicated assessor. The programme lasts a minimum of twelve months and is individual learner need dependent.

Progression

On successful completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship, apprentices can progress on to the Level 3 advanced apprenticeship for Cleaning.
